Webster, Peter (2008) Anglo-Catholicism, theology and the arts, 1918-1970. In: Anglo-Catholic History Society annual lecture, June 2008, St Magnus the Martyr, London. (Unpublished)
Copy

This lecture outlines the theological engagement between Anglo-Catholics and the visual arts, music and religious drama in the years either side of the Second World War. Part of a larger ongoing investigation, it identifies a common trajectory of response; a rise and then a fall in the importance of the arts as part of an integrated notion of Christianity and British culture.
Given as a lecture in 2008, it was privately distributed to members of the Anglo-Catholic History Society, but is otherwise unpublished.
