FO Official Kirkpatrick converses with US Secretary fo State regarding European security, suggesting that Signor Mussolini (Il Duce) wishes to keep Italy out of any war. They also discussed German fears of allied intention to destroy Germany. The US Secretary conferred that the US were similar to the British and the French in regards to trusting little the current German government. There was also discussion of US plans for disarmament, German fears of communism and the FO Officials confirmation that Britain did not want to divide and conquer Germany.
