Alexander McKenzie, the 19th century horticulturist and landscape designer: his life, career, and legacy.

This paper outlines the life and career of Alexander McKenzie and gives a detailed analysis of three representative examples of his urban landscape designs. The first is Alexandra Palace Park in the Borough of Haringey in north London, where he first supervised the laying out of a landscape design; the second is the Victoria Embankment Gardens in central London; and the third is Queen’s Park in Kilburn, north west London.
